I just got into horatio hornblower series, and I must say I fell for archies sweet personality and face and ehm everything, hehe

yes! it is cruel! I don't know what they were thinking (obviously it's based on a book?) but why not make exceptions. I bet there were many people that went all TToTT : nooooes, whyyyyyy??! when he died.
for my part the horatio hornblower adventure was over (atleast in the movies) so now it's on to fanfiction and whatnot. in my mind he's not dead! hehe

I heard that the author's estate didn't like Archie, he being not really in the books and they were probably annoyed by the fact that this original character became so popular, so he was killed off. And I'm one of those people who went OH NOESSS ToT!!! when he died... So many fans left comments on the official HH board to mourn Archie that the board froze, so we're definitely not alone :)

We all know that Archie lives on in AU-land :)

DIDN'T LIKE ARCHIE!!!? but but but. come on! who doesn't like him!! :O (probably some inbread macho man who likes to give the macho slaps all around instead of just admitting he needs a hug) and ye, I can believe the fans would be furious for him being killed of like that. hope they noticed a decline in fans or something after they commited murder! u_u hehe
